There are seasons in a mom’s life when nothing makes sense. You pray, plan, and pour your heart into everything—your children, your family, your dreams—yet things still fall apart in ways you never saw coming. Maybe the job didn’t work out. Maybe your child is struggling in a way you can’t fix. Or maybe your heart feels stretched thin between faith and frustration. You wonder, “Lord, what are You doing? And why now?”
That feeling of confusion doesn’t mean your faith is weak—it means you’re human. God never asked us to understand His every move. He simply asks us to trust Him—especially when we can’t trace Him. It’s easy to have faith when life is smooth, but real trust grows in the dark, when you’re waiting for light that hasn’t yet appeared.
You see, Mom, God isn’t just some distant ruler giving out commands. He’s a Father—gentle, patient, and tender with His children. He sees what you can’t see and knows what’s waiting on the other side of your tears. Like a loving parent steering a child away from danger, He sometimes redirects you—not to hurt you, but to help you grow into something stronger, wiser, and more radiant.

Think about Joseph in the Bible. He had dreams of greatness, but life went in the opposite direction—betrayed by his brothers, thrown into a pit, then imprisoned. For years, nothing made sense. But when he finally stood before Pharaoh, Joseph realized every twist in his story was preparing him for that moment. What looked like abandonment was actually alignment with a greater purpose.
Maybe that’s what God is doing with you, too. The closed door wasn’t rejection—it was re-direction. The unanswered prayer wasn’t neglect—it was protection. God is not late, careless, or cruel. He’s the Father who catches every tear before it hits the ground. When you can’t see His hand, trust His heart.
It’s okay to wrestle with questions. It’s okay to cry and even say, “God, I don’t get it.” He can handle your honesty. In fact, He delights when you bring your confusion to Him instead of running from Him. The very act of trusting—of letting go and saying, “I still believe You know what’s best”—is faith in its purest form.
When You Don’t Understand His Plan:
- Remember who He is – not just powerful, but personal.
- Shift from asking “Why?” to “What now?” – what might God be shaping in me through this?
- Stay rooted in prayer – not to change His plan, but to change your heart.
- Look back at His faithfulness – if He showed up before, He’ll do it again.

Dear mom, faith isn’t about having it all figured out; it’s about knowing Who holds it all together. God’s plan may not make sense today, but one day, you’ll look back and see His fingerprints all over your story. Until then, breathe, pray, and trust His heart—He’s still writing something beautiful, even in the pages you don’t yet understand.
From my heart.
